Grandby's Quilts specializes in one-of-a-kind,
personalized, heirloom quality, PHOTO QUILTS from your very own 5" x 7"
or 4" x 6" photos. Since we don't want to make stitches over
photos, and there shouldn't be less than a 4" area not quilted, 8' x 10"
photos aren't recommended. However, if 8" x 10" is your preference,
it has been done before and beautifully. However, there will be
less number of photos that can be pieced in the top. The amount of
photos are adjustable, the overall size of the quilt isn't, at the posted
prices. We prefer to choose the pattern so no two look exactly
alike. Larger quilts or special patterns constitute Custom Quilting
at a $23 per hour rate with a 10 hour minimum, rather than using the
chart below. (Please see Custom Quilting Page on this site.)
WHAT DO YOU DO TO GET THEM HERE?
* Original photos will be returned
unharmed. If you prefer to send your photos on a disc, in .jpg
format, that’s acceptable, too. Please let us do the cropping where
necessary since not all photo editing programs are alike. Photos
must all be the same size. Good contrast in the photos make the
best quilt reproductions.
* If you are sending color photos,
but you want all black and white or sepia, please designate those instructions in
the letter that you include with your photos. If you want the quilt
to be colorful, send with the photos
and deposit, 1
1/2 yards each of at least 3 different fabrics to use in the
quilt. This gives us a color pallet to work with. Any filler
material needed will be furnished by Grandby's. OR, you may send 1
1/2 yards each of MORE than 3 colors, if you prefer to have full control
over the color pallet and Grandby's not use their stash for filler.
Any unused fabric will be returned to you.
* Number your photos
on the back, in the order of importance, beginning with #1. We like
to put the #1 photo in the center (the heart of the quilt) or in the
first row, center. You tell us where. If you have less photos
than the limit allowed, then you will see more of the colorful quilt.
If you have the full limit of photos, you will see mostly photos
connected with beautiful fabric.

Mail, INSURED, to 2519 East Bitters Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78217.
The balance due will be requested
when your completed quilt is ready to ship back to you. Your
completed photo quilt is shipped when balance is received.
Note: Any
work needed by Christmas must be received in San Antonio by August 31st.
And any project required by any other specific date, must reach us at
least 16 weeks before that date.

Throw or Wallhanging
(50" x 60") with up to 12 photos is $345

Twin/Full
(85"x97") with up to 24 photos is $425

Queen
(95"x100") with up to 40 photos is $495

King
(100"x106") with up to 50 photos is $545

California King (100" x 114") with up to 50 photos and a wider
border is $565
* (Note: if an intricate pattern
like Lone Star, Tumbling Blocks, Wedding Ring, etc., are requested, it
will take more hours so the price will be charged at a flat rate of $23
per hour. I can give you a rough estimate over the phone after
receiving your box. There is a $130 minimum.)
* Deduct $25 from total amount
due, if you send your photos already printed on printable fabric, so
the photos are ready to piece into your top. We recommend buying,
at your local quilt shop, the packaged washable, colorfast sheets
versus the dry cleanable sheets. Buy WHITE fabric sheets if you
are using colored photos. Buy beige or white fabric sheets, if
the original photos are black and white. Your local copy shop can
print these for you on any single sheet feed inkjet printer.
* Add $10 for 3 lines of monogramming
somewhere around the edge of the quilt for name and dates.
