Grandby's Quilts specializes in custom T-Shirt
Quilts. Create a one-of-a-kind, heirloom-quality quilt from
your loved one's T-shirts or other clothing. Imagine all their
favorite sports team T-shirts pieced into a quilt. It would make a
wonderful gift and a treasure to last a lifetime.
A meandering quilting pattern is recommended for
T-shirt quilts so that quilting over dates, faces and other features of
the T-shirt design can be avoided. Custom work for additional items
(such as pockets), more than the number of Tees listed in the chart below
or adding photos to your Tee Shirt project is $23 per hour, in
addition to the chart prices below, to accomplish these changes.

* Throw
(50" x 60") or smaller with *9 Tees, minimum of $345
* Twin/Full (84" x 90") with *12 Tees, $395
* Queen (95" X 100") with *16 Tees, $430
* King (106" X 100") with *16 full Tees and a
larger border than the Queen,$450
* California King (100" x 114") with 16 full Tees
and a larger border than the King $495
* Always send a few more Tees than stated, in
case the graphics on one of
your favorites is small or there are graphics from a different shirt that
can be used in the borders.
(Note: if an intricate pattern like Lone Star, Tumbling
Blocks, Wedding Ring, etc., are requested, it will take more hours so the
price will be charged at a flat rate of $23 per hour. I can give you a
rough estimate over the phone after receiving your box. There is a $130
minimum.)
HOW TO ORDER?
* Determine the size
you want
* Number your Tees in
the order of importance, #1 being the most important
* Send 1 1/2 yards, each, of at least 3
different fabrics you want pieced in the top. YOUR color selections give us a
pallet to work from (we may use more fabric from our own stash to fill in, if
needed).
* Your letter of request including the $230
deposit in check or money order.
* Include $10 to monogram
a name and date in the bottom corner of the quilt,
if you'd like.
* Your full name,
address, zip, email address and daytime phone number.
* Mail, INSURED, to 2519 East Bitters Rd.,
San Antonio, Texas 78217 The tee
top will be pieced within 4 weeks of receipt and a digital photo in .jpg
format will be emailed to you for you to see the progress. The actual
quilting will be completed within 12-16 weeks of receipt of your project.
Note: Any work needed by Christmas must be
received in San Antonio by August
31st. And any project required by any other specific date, must reach us
at least 16 weeks before that date.
The balance due will be requested when your
completed quilt is ready to ship back to you. Your completed tee shirt
quilt is shipped to you when balance due is received.
Remember, you are commissioning artists to create an heirloom-to-be. The
cost is minimal compared to the magnitude of history and happiness you will
be passing down for years to come, beginning with the recipient of the
finished quilt. T-Shirt quilts are perfect for Graduations, Birthdays,
Teachers, Retirements, Christmas, and even Weddings if Tees from Bride and
Groom, both, are included. Grandby's Quilts has made more T-Shirt Quilts
for Bereavement than any other reason. There is something healing about
wrapping up with the one you miss; like having their arms around you when
you need it most.
